things I love (fancy sandwiches on demand).

I love a good tradition just about as much as I love a good sandwich + a cute idea. Throw those things together and I don't know what to do with myself. Cue le dinersaur.

Fancy Sandwich Friday.

Adorable Olivia's adorable sandwich business, le dinersaur, delivers even MORE adorable lunches straight to wherever you are (assuming you're in phx!). Are you getting the picture? It's ALL ADORABLE and irresistible.

The best thing about working from home most Fridays is my fancy sandwich delivery.

The menu changes every week (she posts it here and on her insta each Monday). You send an email with your order, and magically a perfect lunch is delivered to your home or office. Everything is amazing. The bread is home baked. You get a cute quote with your order. And a tea cookie in a HANDMADE PAPER BOX. C'mon. Come. On.

If you're not within the delivery area, find a friend who is! Find a spot to meet. Shoot, come to my house!

I guess what I'm saying is, lunch doesn't get any better than a le dinersaur delivery and I want everyone I know to know it. Do it, do it, do it!

things I love (terrariums!).

In all fairness, I didn't always love terrariums. I didn't really give them any thought at all. But my favorite Phoenix gem, frances, was having a workshop...and as I usually react to such news, I called, booked a couple spots for me and a friend and figured no matter what it was going to be fun.

You guys. It was fun.

And I sort of love terrariums now.

I may or may not have immediately come home and googled where I could find a miniature teepee for my miniature gold club girl/pegasus duo to reside in.

Led by the brains behind Terrarian, a local mastermind of miniature, the class was the perfect way to spend an evening with a friend, make new crafty pals and try my hand at a gardening hobby I might not kill off immediately.

frances is always hosting really great events, so if you're in Phoenix, or visiting Phoenix, or even NEAR Phoenix, you should check out their event calendar.

Trust me.

bands I love (the lumineers).

The Lumineers came to town.

And they were great.

Even a little under the weather, they are some pretty wonderful performers and it's a show I won't soon forget.

Check out a few of my favorite performances by this great, great band:

things I love (a road trip!)

Last weekend I had a day off and an itch to get out of the heat (hello 113 degrees!)...so my dad and I packed up the car for a quick road trip north to a place I've been dying to visit.

Historic Route 66 is home to all sorts of quirky gems, but I've had the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ on my mind since I first saw photos of it.

$58 and a 3.5 hour drive got us our very own concrete teepee for the night, complete with a slanted wall bathroom/shower and a tv.

We wandered around, enjoyed the only movie playing in town, and took a quick drive to explore Petrified Forest National Park (gorgeous and eerie and moon-like).

It was just as weird as I hoped it would be, and definitely worth the trip!

things I love (good AZ jams).

Over the weekend, I saw a tweet from my favorite place to buy music, about a contest to win tickets to a show at the Musical Instrument Museum. I didn't really look at what the show was, but I like the MIM and I trust that Stinkweeds wouldn't steer me wrong, so I thew my name in the hat.

And I won.

Tuesday came around, and I had a whole host of reasons why I didn't want to go (it was hot, I didn't buy the tickets so what was I losing, the MIM was far, I was tired, blah blah blah). Thankfully my dad said he really wanted to check it out, so I sucked it up and off we went.

I'm so, so glad.

We found ourselves at the Arizona Singer/Songwriter Showcase. Four of Phoenix's best musicians treated us to a night of chatty, sometimes messy music that was absolutely wonderful. It might have been one of the top five things I've done in Arizona.

Really.

It was such a great reminder of the talent that lives in this dusty state, and all four of them played music I would go to see again. And again.

We heard from Mat Weddle, otherwise known as Obadiah Parker who blew up when his acoustic version of "Hey Ya" hit the world a few years ago, Brian Chartrand, Matthew Thornton (one half of the local duo Vinyl Station) & Jay Allan.

The beautiful theater at the MIM sealed the deal.

Every day more and more bands stop in Phoenix to play shows (which is amazing!!), but if this show taught me anything, it's not to forget about the wonderful music we have at our fingertips every day.

things I love (supper club).

Supper Club.

Once a month, my friends and I meet at a restaurant in Phoenix (or we've been known to occasionally venture to Scottsdale or *gasp* Gilbert) that most of us haven't been to, order a ton of delicious food, relax with one (twothreefour) cold cocktails, get totally judgy and enjoy a new place and each other's company.

Sometimes we end up loving it.

Sometimes we end up wishing we had picked somewhere else.
Sometimes we find ourselves at the end of the night in a parking lot celebrating a birthday.
(when life hands you lemons...or cupcakes...!)

We always overdo it.

We always try dessert.
I'm always the weird one taking food pics.
We always seem to be adding new members (hey babies!).
And we allllways love it.

So far we've wound up places like Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails at the Palomar, The Main Ingredient, Citizen Public House, Beckett's Table, Barrio Queen, Joe's Farm Grill & Federal Pizza (hello sweet potato pizza!).

Good or bad (mostly good!), it's always an adventure.

Where should we go next?!
