adventure log // I N D I A (delhi round one)

the adventure of a lifetime? maybe.
top five for sure.
two weeks in india with two of my favorite humans.

after deciding to stick to the northern part of the country, we started with a few days in delhi. from the minute we hopped off the plane, we were smacked in the face by all that is india. all the smells and sights and spices and smiles and stares and stumbles that make it such a magical place were there in full force, welcoming us with open arms. life there is truly lived in technicolor. a whirlwind in it's purest form, I've never been anywhere quite like it. and it was hard, and dusty, and bustling, and beautiful and perfect.

I can't wait to go back.

for now, some highlights //

my friend simone suggested we start our adventures with a walking food tour, led by Anubhav from delhi food walks. he was so knowledgeable (and a bit of a local celeb!), and he led us down the twisty-ist of alleys and into the tiniest stalls to find truly the best food of the whole trip. we would never have known where to start without him, and it was the perfect way to get our bearings, meet a great local and eat all. the. things. from the street chai to the secret flower shop, I can't recommend it enough!

we stayed in in hauz khas, a green, quiet(ish) neighborhood tucked just far enough away that we could enjoy quiet mornings before diving in head first. the staff at haveli hauz khas were friendly an helpful. there are a million choices, but if you want a budget-friendly, cozy option, they're great!

we spent the rest of our days getting lost just about everywhere we went, dodging rainclouds and falling in love with the energy and chaos of the country.

before we knew it - we had boarded a train bound for a world wonder. but more on that later.
