places I love (seattle // lopez island)

hello? anyone remember me? I'm finally getting my act together and thought it was time to catch up on some recent adventures. first up - a trip to the PNW to visit a good one. unicorn hunts, donuts and seattle wanderings ensued.

but then.

after nearly a dozen trips to the emerald city, expanding our footprint was on the agenda.

we headed a few hours and a ferry ride out of town and landed on lopez island. the third largest of the san juan islands, lopez is known for rolling, slow country life - perfect for bikes and naps and taking it easy.

we stayed in this adorable collection of cabins that was perfection.
bikes were waiting for us, dropped off before we got there by village cycles.
we had treats (along with the rest of town) here + had dinner here.

every single local we passed waved and smiled. we saw more bunnies in 24 hours than we've probably seen in our whole lives (they are a local fave).

it was awesome. you should go.

things I love (LADYWEEKENDS).

A couple weeks ago, some of my favorite ladyfriends and I headed up to seattle for some much needed girl time and some cooler weather (note: it is NOT fall in AZ yet, no matter how many pumpkin spice lattes you consume).

I always joke that we can't get a happy hour on the calendar, but pick a weekend to go out of town and everyone's got a flight booked before I've hit send on the group text.

Our weekend was full of great girl talk, strolling around town & out of control plaid.

Favorites included drinking here, boating here, and ODing on cheese here.

Girlfriends are my people. I couldn't be more fortunate to know such smart, cool and generous women who are all thriving and different and wonderful. Ladies I look up to and learn from and laugh with. I've known some of them for 20+ years and that fact alone is rare and worth celebrating.

I've got a good thing going with this group, and I can't get enough of them. Here's to a thousand more days like these. XO.

places I love (a weekend in seattle).

a couple weeks ago I hopped up to Seattle for a weekend with one of my very best friends - and it didn't disappoint. Sunshine and girl talk, great food and even a little kenny chesney. WHOAMI?!

some favorites included brunch at portage bay, the biscuits from morsel, drinks at still liquor, and an epic dim sum showing from din tai fung dumpling house.

weekends with good friends never get old.
